SUPPORTING RESEARCH INTO BRAIN TUMORS
IN MEMORIAM OF MARTIN
IN MEMORIAM OF MARTIN
My name is Christelle Arrighi and I would like to tell you about my husband, Martin.
In December 2014, after several weeks of headaches and dizziness, the diagnosis came: Martin had a brain glioma. Our first daughter, Jeanne, was three weeks old at the time.
Our lives were turned upside down. In February 2015, Martin underwent a major ten-hour awake surgery. When he woke up, he was aphasic and hemiparetic. Three months of rehabilitation followed. In 2016, he underwent a series of treatments.
Then, in 2017, he went into remission.
Life resumed. In 2018, our son Côme was born, followed three years later by Arthur. Despite constant vigilance, we eventually believed the disease was behind us.
In October 2024, a recurrence was announced. New, very aggressive treatments, including an experimental trial, were attempted. Despite everything, the tumor progressed rapidly.
In June 2025, Martin was hospitalized, too weak to stay at home.
Martin left us at the age of 41.
Today, the only way to make sense of it all is to help researchers better understand these diseases so that other families in the future can benefit from better treatments and better chances of remission...
This was a fight Martin wanted to take on, which is why he chose to donate his brain to science.
You too can support the doctors and researchers at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital and the Brain Institute who are working tirelessly on these issues with your generosity.
Research offers vital hope to patients and their families in a world where the WHO estimates that one in three people will be affected by neurological diseases (including brain cancer, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, etc.).
Today, I am asking for your support. Thank you very much!
Christelle
